If an address is not returned by DQE, it usually means that the input could not be matched with enough confidence against the postal reference data used to determine whether an address is deliverable.
Common reasons
- the address is incomplete or contains missing elements;
- the street name, locality, or postal code is misspelled;
- the address is not considered deliverable in the postal reference data;
- the address exists locally but is not available as a deliverable postal address;
- the country, postal code, or locality does not match the rest of the input;
- the input contains extra information that prevents a reliable match.
What to check first
- Verify the spelling of the street, locality, and postal code.
- Remove unnecessary comments, building notes, or internal references from the address line.
- Check whether the address can be identified with a more complete input.
- Test the same address with and without additional details such as apartment, building, or company name.
French postal addresses
For French postal addresses, DQE relies on La Poste reference data to check whether an address is deliverable. If an address is not returned, the input may not match a deliverable postal address in the reference data.
When to contact DQE Support
Contact DQE Support if you believe the address should be returned as deliverable. Include the full input address, country, expected result, request timestamp, environment, and the response returned by DQE.
