An email domain may not be recognized when DQE cannot obtain enough information to validate the domain or when the domain applies restrictions that limit validation checks.
Common reasons
- the domain name contains a typo;
- the domain does not exist;
- DNS information cannot be resolved;
- the domain was recently created or modified;
- the domain applies private validation policies;
- temporary network or lookup issues affect validation.
What to check first
- Verify the domain spelling.
- Confirm that the domain is active and correctly configured.
- Test another email address from the same domain.
- Compare the result with a known public email domain.
Private domains
Some private or restricted domains intentionally limit the information that can be exposed through validation checks. In these situations, DQE may not be able to return the same level of information as for public domains.
When to contact DQE Support
Provide the tested email address, the returned status, the expected result, the request timestamp, and the environment used.
