DQE provides a set of services for identity verification and fraud signal detection, primarily using mobile telecom data.

ID Check

ID Check verifies a person's identity based on submitted personal data. It cross-references submitted information against available reference data to confirm or flag inconsistencies.

ID Mobile

ID Mobile verifies mobile identity using telecom network data. It checks whether the submitted phone number matches the identity information held by the mobile operator, without sending an SMS or requiring any user interaction.

Number Verify

Number Verify validates a mobile number and returns identity verification indicators based on telecom data. It is typically used to confirm that a phone number belongs to the expected person.

Simswap

Simswap detects whether a SIM card has recently been swapped on a given mobile number. A recent SIM swap is a known fraud signal that may indicate an account takeover attempt. The service returns the swap status and, where available, the date of the last swap.

SMS — Phone Confirmation

SMS Phone Confirmation sends a one-time password (OTP) to a phone number and confirms whether the user has entered the correct code. It is used to verify that the person providing a phone number has physical access to that number.

When to use each service

Service Use case
ID Check Verify submitted identity data against reference data
ID Mobile Silent identity check via mobile network (no user action)
Number Verify Confirm number ownership via telecom data
Simswap Detect SIM swap fraud risk on a mobile number
SMS OTP Verify the user has access to the submitted number
