Installing the DQE One managed package from the AppExchange is not the last step: you still need to connect it to your Salesforce org through the DQE One Installer app. This article walks through each screen of that setup wizard.
Step 1 — Start
Open the DQE One Installer app. Choose your Region (EU, NA, UK or CN — wherever your DQE licence is hosted), then click Start Installation. If you don't have a licence yet, click Start Free Trial instead.
Step 2 — Licence and authorization
Enter your DQE License Code. If you use your own, self-hosted DQE server, also fill in its URL — otherwise leave that field empty. Click Next Step: you'll be redirected to Salesforce's standard permission screen, where you review and accept the access DQE One is requesting.
Once you accept, Salesforce automatically exchanges the authorization for an access token — this step is automatic, there's nothing to click.
Step 3 — Choose your installation format
Select the format matching your contract:
- DataQ — real-time validation only (address, email, phone, civility).
- Unify / UnifyServerless — batch deduplication and merge, plus DataQ.
Click Submit.
Step 4 — Automatic provisioning
DQE One now creates everything it needs in your org on its own (named credentials, auth providers, custom settings...). This can take a few minutes depending on your org's deployment queue.
If you entered a custom server URL in step 2, the wizard pauses partway through and asks you to configure authentication on the Customer_Dqe_One named credential it just created (a link is provided to open it directly), then click Next Step to resume. If you're using the standard hosted DQE server, you won't see this pause.
If a step fails, you can Retry it, or click Exit to cancel and uninstall what was already created.
Step 5 — Done
The "Installed Successfully. You are all set!" screen confirms the installation is complete. Click Finish.
Good to know
The person who completes this wizard — specifically, who accepts the permission screen in step 2 — is the user whose access DQE One reuses afterward for certain automated operations. This is not necessarily the same person who clicked Install on the AppExchange listing itself.
To remove DQE One later, reopen this same app: it offers an Uninstall option that removes the named credentials, auth providers and connected apps it created.
